It has been my belief that movies based on novels, especially great novels, are usually very good. Something of a specialists dvd for lovers of Jane Eyre such as me but really ruined as many have said by being very dark and of poor technical quality. An acclaimed turn by George C. Scott as Mr. Rochester and moody English scenery highlight this rendition of the original Gothic romance tale that also stars Susannah York as Charlotte Bronte's hard-life heroine.
