Dr. Grethel Aguilar, born in Costa Rica, is the IUCN Regional Director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean and former Acting Director General of the IUCN. COUNTDOWN TO THE IUCN WORLD CONSERVATION CONGRESS Dr Grethel Aguilar highlights the importance of the coming decade for the planet and the role that the IUCN World Conservation Congress will play in setting the world on the path to recovery and sustainability.
