This thoughtful program explores Alaska and the world through conversations with writers, artists, scientists, historians, and the people who live in the North.
I now work for the station 14 hours a week. “Northern Soundings: Alaska in Conversation,” is hosted by Robert Hannon, KUAC FM news producer.
I’m practicing good social distancing and interviewing guests remotely from home. As I was easing into retirement, I jumped at the chance to do what I enjoy best, engage with the people of my community, ask questions and share the answers.
It appears the healthy lead Joe Biden has enjoyed in the presidential contest is diminishing. Historian Patty Limerick discusses the challenges of valorizing the past.
Weekly words from the Katexic Clippings segment on Northern Soundings, a KUAC Radio interview show airing every Tuesday at 10am Alaska Time. In these interesting times, Northern Soundings is trying for flexibility. This thoughtful program explores Alaska and the world through conversations with writers, artists, scientists, historians, and the people who live in the North. This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged. Northern Soundings allows me to do more of that, but in a longer format. I call this new venture Northern Soundbites. “I enjoy Fresh Air and Charlie Rose,” Hannon said. “Those program give guests a chance to breathe and unpack their observations.” He modeled Northern Soundings with a similar format of exploring ideas and airing intriguing conversations. Susan McInnis talks with George Sundborg who helped draft Alaska's constitution. So, I’m offering shorter pieces that won’t tax the ear but still get Alaska voices before the public.
Edit | Remove. This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged. Last year, I learned KUAC was looking for some on-call reporters.
