The Native American Indian Center of Central Ohio is devoted to preserving and restoring balance in the lives of American Indian and Alaska Native youth and families living in and around Ohio through culture, wellness, community, and education. The AICA team has always been there for me when I needed questions answered and I thank them for that.

This community-driven model leverages the social capital of a larger network mobilizing toward a common solution. The phrase “Thank you” isn’t enough and so I strive to be a 4.0 student each term to show them just how much their support has meant in my life and my families. Since we include some of our public education in direct mail packages, we also follow the Financial Accounting Standards Board guidelines and allocate a portion of our direct mail costs to program services and a portion to fundraising.
The Red Crescent Code closely aligns with the PWNA Way of working on the reservations. We also use direct mail as a cost-effective (postage-saving) way to inform donors of other actions they can take to support our mission.

Johns’ bountiful harvest moved him from “gardener to grower” and his produce is purchased at local and mobile farmers markets across the Pine Ridge Reservation. PWNA subscribes to the Red Crescent Code, an international code of conduct for nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in disaster relief.

COVID-19 has a magnified impact on Native Americans living on the reservations. I am very appreciative of everything they have done for me. My spiritual beliefs are very old and in practice and by doing so I am honoring my nation the Yoeme tribe (Pascua Yaqui).
