The Siberia 350 is a USB only driven headset, but it was a surprise nonetheless to find just the headset inside the box and no supporting cables or adaptors.
If you can do without the gimmicks, you might be better served seeking out the older Siberia models or cheaper alternatives like the excellent HyperX Cloud 2. Normally I can only last just over an hour or two with other headphones. Simply push it back into the ear cup when you’re not using it, and whilst stowed away it also makes them look like a traditional pair of audio headphones. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that hates having to change the size of the headband when lending it to anyone else. While the audio performance remains good, the headset is held back from greatness by the additions. If you are part of the specific audience Steelseries is targeting with the Siberia 350, you’ll probably be very happy. This means you can wear the headset for many hours without feeling uncomfortable or feel the need to take it off. While it is guilty of some of what I mentioned above, the pros outweigh the cons and provide a much better than average experience. Though clearly a gimmick, it’s admittedly neat to have your headphones glowing on your desk, whispering “ignore your commitments and come play more Doom.” I had some issues with the Engine software. Just behind your left ear there is a little switch which you can use to mute and unmute your microphone. Now for the gamer street cred portion of the review. If DTS X and 7.1 is common place around your ears though, then I would definitely give the Siberia 350 a worthy listen.
